Despite the lack of classroom space, in 2008 we decided there was room for another three children. Cramming them in was better than sending them home! We employed a second local teacher, Fortunate, when Michelle had to leave and get a ‘real job’.
Teacher Ncobile completed an eight week course in early childhood education, run by UNICEF and the Ministry of Education. Two Canadian photographers visited the school and made a fundraising calendar with the awesome shots they took. And our students saw lions, elephants and giraffes on the inaugural Matjana Preschool excursion.
