Matjana’s third year saw increasing support from international volunteers. Our outdoor play area got a boost when the Bowen family came and built a set of swings (which the kids are still swinging on). Canadian photographer Lisa volunteered at the preschool and helped organise a grandmothers day (she also shared her photography skills with a group of students at the nearest high school).

And after receiving a donation of food from Discovery Junction Preschool in Manzini, the preschool mothers organised themselves to do the cooking, and we provided our first school lunches. But we were still frustrated by the lack of space and more ready than ever to begin building a bigger classroom.
